Apply to Volunteer

Three Steps to Become a Volunteer

Prior to applying,  please be sure you have read and meet the requirements for our volunteers.

1. Submit Your Online Application

Our online system uses excellent security protocols to ensure all your information is protected. Applications take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

If you are a clinician, our applications are based on your licensing status. Please choose the status that best represents your situation and click on it.

  • WA State Health Care Professional
If you are licensed, certified or registered with the WA State Dept. of Health.
  • Other Health Care Professional
If you are a health professional with a national certification, trade school certification or license from another state.
  • Non-Clinical
If you are applying to volunteer as a clerk, interpreter, front desk assistant, etc. (any capacity except health professional).
  • Student
If you are a student (high school, college, graduate school, intern, extern, etc.) The minimum age to volunteer is 18. Special projects may be available for volunteers under the age of 18; please call the volunteer office for more information at 360-450-3044, ext. 102.

Once you submit the application, you will receive an automated email response. A staff member from our volunteer office will contact you to review your application.

If you have any questions about the application process, please call the volunteer office at 360-450-3044, ext. 102.

2. Interview

Once a position becomes available, we will contact you for an informal interview with a  program manager. At your interview you will have time to review the role description and tour the work environment.

3.  Orientation

New volunteers will meet with a staff member from our volunteer office for a general orientation and learn to access the Vic Net online scheduling system.

At the meeting, you will be asked to provide photo identification and complete several forms. Please note: We will also need your permission to do a criminal background check.  Oregon residents will be asked to provide $33 to cover the cost of this background check before they volunteer for their first shift.

Once you are invited to join the team, we will schedule one or more “shadow shifts” so you can watch a volunteer doing the same work that you will do. We’ll also help you schedule your regular ongoing shifts.
