The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington offers free vision exams to determine need for glasses, as well as to screen for conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma and cataracts.
To qualify for Free Clinic of Southwest Washington vision services, patients must be low-income and uninsured, or carry insurance that does not cover vision.
Vision exams are available by appointment only.
If you would like a vision appointment, please come to the Free Clinic , located at 4100 Plomondon Street, Vancouver WA 98661, to fill out a vision appointment application. You will be contacted when an appointment is available.
You might have to wait 3-4 months for a basic eye exam. The wait for a medical eye exam such as diabetic, cataract or glaucoma could take up to 1 month.
Should a vision provider determine that a patient needs prescription glasses, we will refer them to a partner program to receive free glasses. We encourage patients who only need glasses for reading to buy reading glasses from the Dollar Store or a similar low-cost shop.
If a vision provider suspects a patient has an eye disease such as cataracts or severe retinopathy, we will try to refer them to receive free specialty care.
You might be able to receive vision services through Eye Care America. To see if you qualify, visit http://www.eyecareamerica.org/.
